Industrial Construction Estimating

How Industrial Estimating Works

01

Submit Full Document Set

Provide architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings along with any process drawings, equipment lists, or geotechnical reports. The more complete your documents, the more precise your industrial estimate.

02

Structural & Site Analysis

Our estimators analyze the structural system — tilt-up, pre-engineered, or steel frame — and the full site development scope, including paving, utilities, and stormwater, before moving to building systems pricing.

03

Systems & Equipment Pricing

All industrial MEP systems, equipment foundations, crane runways, dock equipment, and specialty installations are priced individually using current industrial labor rates and equipment costs for your region.

04

Deliver Detailed Report

Your completed industrial estimate is delivered in Excel and PDF format, organized by building system and site scope, with clear separation of structural, MEP, site, and equipment foundation costs for easy review and buyout planning.

Yes. Tilt-up concrete construction is one of our core industrial estimating competencies. We price the full tilt-up scope including slab-on-grade, panel layout and reinforcement, embeds, crane operations, connections, and erection — as well as the coordination costs between the tilt-up contractor and other trades working around panel placement.
Yes. We regularly estimate industrial facilities ranging from 50,000 sq ft to over 1,000,000 sq ft. For large complexes, we organize the estimate by building area and phase, keeping the scope manageable while ensuring every system is captured accurately across the full project footprint.
Yes. Heavy equipment pads, vibration isolation foundations, inertia bases, overhead crane runway beams and columns, and other process-related structural elements are estimated when shown on your drawings. If equipment loads are provided, we can price appropriate foundation designs even at early design stages.
Industrial MEP is priced from the engineering drawings, including electrical service and distribution, process piping, compressed air systems, HVAC for production and office areas, and fire protection. We use industrial labor rates and specialty contractor pricing appropriate for the system complexity and project location.
Standard turnaround is 24–48 hours for most industrial projects. For very large or complex facilities — multi-building campuses, highly specialized manufacturing plants, or projects with extensive process drawings — we will provide a specific turnaround timeline when you submit your documents, and will communicate proactively if additional time is needed.

What Our Clients Say

"We developed a 380,000 sq ft tilt-up distribution center outside Columbus and needed a solid budget before our GC bids came in. Plane Estimates delivered a thorough estimate — structural, site, and MEP all priced separately — that came within 4% of our low bid. That kind of accuracy at preconstruction is invaluable."
