Concrete Estimating Services

How Concrete Estimating Works

1

Structural Drawing Review

You submit your foundation plans, structural floor plans, sections, details, and project specifications so our estimators can fully understand the concrete scope.

2

Volume Calculation

We calculate concrete volumes in cubic yards for every element — footings, slabs, walls, columns, and flatwork — organized by pour sequence and element type.

3

Rebar Takeoff

Reinforcement is quantified by bar size, spacing, and length. We account for lap splices and hooks to deliver a complete weight-by-element rebar summary.

4

Deliver Report

Your concrete estimate is delivered within 24–48 hours in a clear Excel format, with volumes, rebar weights, and formwork areas ready for unit cost application.

FAQs

Questions about our concrete estimating process? Our team is ready to walk you through exactly what we need and what you will receive.

Contact Us

Do you include rebar in concrete estimates?

Yes. Rebar takeoff is included as part of our standard concrete estimate. We quantify by bar size and provide total linear footage and weight in tons, organized by structural element.

How do you calculate concrete volumes?

We scale dimensions directly from structural drawings and calculate volumes in cubic yards using element geometry. We apply a standard waste factor and note any areas where assumptions were required due to drawing ambiguity.

Do you estimate formwork?

Yes. Formwork contact area is calculated for walls, columns, grade beams, and elevated slab edges. We note the forming system referenced in the specifications when it is identified.

Can you estimate tilt-up panels?

Yes. We estimate tilt-up panel concrete volumes, reinforcement, embed plates, and lifting inserts as part of our concrete scope. Just include your tilt-up panel elevation and detail drawings.

Do you cover post-tension slabs?

Yes. For post-tensioned slabs we quantify concrete volume and note the PT tendon layout, quantity, and stressing requirements from the structural drawings and PT contractor submittals when available.

What Our Clients Say

"We submitted a large commercial foundation set on a Monday and had the complete concrete and rebar estimate by Wednesday morning. The breakdown by element type saved my estimating team hours of work. Plane Estimates is now our go-to for every concrete takeoff we need to turn around fast."
