MEP Estimating Services

How MEP Estimating Works

1

MEP Drawing Set Review

You submit your full MEP drawing set — mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection plans, schedules, and specifications — through our secure upload portal.

2

System-by-System Takeoff

Each discipline is taken off individually: HVAC ductwork and equipment, plumbing piping and fixtures, electrical systems, and fire suppression — organized by floor and system type.

3

Coordination & Cross-check

Quantities are cross-checked across disciplines for consistency. Shared equipment, utility connections, and interface items are flagged to avoid double-counting or omission.

4

Combined Delivery

Your coordinated MEP estimate is delivered within 24–48 hours in a single Excel workbook with separate tabs per discipline and a combined summary sheet.

Contact Us

Do you estimate all three MEP trades?

Yes. We estimate mechanical (HVAC), electrical, and plumbing together as a coordinated scope, or we can estimate any single discipline if that is all you need for a particular project or bid package.

How do you coordinate MEP estimates?

All three disciplines are estimated concurrently by our team and cross-referenced at the system level. Interface items such as electrical connections to HVAC equipment and plumbing rough-ins are reconciled between disciplines before delivery.

Do you include equipment costs?

We identify and schedule all mechanical and plumbing equipment from the drawings and specifications. Budgetary pricing can be included upon request, but our standard deliverable is a quantity-based takeoff ready for your team to apply unit costs.

Can you estimate BIM-based MEP?

Yes. If you have BIM models (Revit, Navisworks, or IFC format) we can work from exported quantity reports and cross-reference against 2D drawings to validate and supplement the model-based takeoff.

Do you estimate fire suppression?

Yes. Fire suppression — wet pipe, dry pipe, pre-action, and clean agent systems — is included in our MEP scope when fire protection drawings are provided. We quantify pipe by size and material, heads, valves, and equipment.

What Our Clients Say

"Getting all three MEP disciplines estimated by the same team was a game changer for our commercial bids. Plane Estimates delivered a coordinated workbook that caught interface issues we would have missed if we had farmed out each discipline separately. The turnaround was fast and the detail level was exactly what we needed."
